I have two Linksys routers (WRT54G v.3) which I have flashed about a year ago.  I want to upgrade to the latest firmware.  I can not connect to the router using localnode:8080.  I have tried both routers and I get the same response from both Chrome and Mozilla.  I tried IPCONFIG /release and also renew and still the same thing.   Can someone get me going in the right direction?  Thanks.

Try turning off the other networking interfaces on your PC. This is confusing the DNS process on your PC.

Hmmm . . .same problem . . .on one particular machine, an Acer Aspire One netbook, running WinXP, I can't connect to the router. Firefox says "redirecting to the status page," but just sits there, saying "connecting." Other machines, XP, and Win 8.1, seem to have no problem. I can ping the router, but no status page. Help?

Please do not revive old dead threads.  This one has been inactive for over 4 months.  Since that time new versions of software name come out and old data may no longer be relevant.
