In the downloads folder for both Linksys and UBNT, there is an experimental software link that includes version 3.0.0 Beta.

I have put it on my mesh network here in Waco with good results.  It appears to fix or mask the errors in 1.1.2.  I have over 20 nodes up and running and they are maintaining connections.  The OLSR crashes are minimized and the watchdog is bringing it back up when it does crash.

Who else is using it and what have been your results?

pushing past 20 nodes. Identical results as you report.

We've been up and running on v3 for about 2 and half weeks now (or so). About 18 nodes I believe is our current count. Since then, on my one particular bullet, I've noticed 8 restarts thus far. However, that being said, we haven't had to hard reset or soft reset a single node at all. With some of the nodes, their locations are temporary and not exactly best for RF, so nodes pop in and out depending on weather and other factors and still our mesh has been steady. Though I have to say I've been away from the mesh work for awhile, just daily random check status here and there. Eventually I hope to be getting back into what I started. 73, John W3RC

Our group and KE7XO in Las Vegas have had issues with link failures and Ubiquiti bullets crashing. I had to restore a Bullet back to Ubiquiti stock firmware to start over again. Our simple 5 node system with 3.0 and good link quality did not appear stable.

n6kzb, the problems you describe match what I saw with 1.1.2.   I have seen some OLSR crashes on my 3.0.0 network but the watchdog has restarted the nodes as they crashed.

Was the problems you having with the 1.1.2 or 3.0.0?  The 3.0.0 download is a little difficult to find.

Look at the file names of the firmware downloads.  The 3.0.0 files start out bbhn-3.0.0* while the 1.1.2 files start out bbhn-1.1.2*

The 3.0.0 files are in the Experimental Builds link below the the 1.1.2 files in the downloads section.

With your nodes all running 3.0.0 and having the same SSID I would of expected them to connect. At least that has been my experience. 3.0.0 will not connect to prior firmware revisions but you would not have even seen those nodes unless you changes the default SSID.

My experience with 3.0.0 has definitely been different than what you describ. I have over 20 nodes spread out over six sites. A mix of mainly Ubiquiti with some linksys remaining from old installs. Mine are connecting and maintaining a connection. I have several connected back to back with 2.4 GHz being the majority of the nodes by I do have a pair of m5 NanoStations and a pair of M900 NanoStation Locos on my mesh. Back to bak connections tie the three frequencies together.

I would be curious to know why we are having such different results. If you will email me at my call at arrl.net I will we can arrange a time to talk on the phone see if we can work through the issues.

Version 3.0 latest beta build about 1 1/2 weeks ago. Also a nano station 2 seemed to have trouble responding to menu changes, sometimes fast, sometimes browser would just time out. This was one local hop away, 92 % quality. I am off to Guadalajara to give a Winlink presentation to the convention there, so will see what is up upon my return. Adios xe2/n6kzb
