Hi,

I've been out of the loop for quite some time. I just flashed 3 of my routers that had the old Hamnet firmware on them to 3.1. So I am considering myself 'back in the loop'! I was a webmaster  for a long time and I was wondering why not install a full blown webserver on a laptop (i.e. XAMPP, etc.). Once you have a webserver there are tons of applications that can be added, email, BBS, etc. That is where I am hoping to head on my end. I don't really have anyone in my area doing Ham Broadband. I am hoping to get a webserver up and running on my node with a couple of external antennas and then encourage some other local hams to join me.

I was thinking the same there here. I live in the middle of nowhere (The closest Wal-Mart is an hour away). There are 33 hams in the community I live in. I was thinking of starting with a PBX, try and find some SIP phones (cheap) that I could configure and loan out to other hams. From there goto e-mail, web server, etc. Could be fun...
