WRT54G-RG how to back to ddwrt
I have a WRT54G-RG that is now the latest flash but want to put it back to DDWRT. What is the easiest way to do this as the two files are different and ddwrt cannot be directly uploaded. What is the easiest procedure to get back to ddwrt?
thanks,, Klaus ve3kr

Dallas Mesquite node active
Good evening all! I'm in the northern area of Mesquite with a WRT54GL and cheap 16-element beam - looking to link up to the node in Lakewood or the node in Rockwall/Rowlett area, I see Lakewood is 7 miles away! :) Just checking in for additional Dallas activity, thanks! |

5.5.x Ubiquiti Factory Firmware for bullet m2
Does anyone have a copy of Ubiquiti's 5.5.x firmware for the bullet m2. It does not appear to be on their site anymore? The oldest is now 5.6.x Thanks.

Welcome, Victorville, Adelanto, Hesperia and SBDO HSMM-MESH Users!
That's great we have some gear here in Palmdale but no place suited high enough with permission to make good connections. Let me know exactly where you are we have a couple of places we may be able to use in Lancaster, Palmdale and Lake LA that I would like to try. I have several services I host related to Ecomm PBX, Web Services, Custom Apps and these are available locally in Palmdale via MESH but no one is connecting to them right now. Please hit me up and send me an email I would like to discuss. ke6rhv@arrl.net High Desert Ecomm Group www.hdecommgrp.org/ Marcus

DNS not working when trying to access Tunnel-connected nodes
Well now it's working. For some reason the node that the tunnel server is on was not connecting to remote nodes. When I jacked in to a different node, everything worked as it should. Now on to improving that asterisk config and coming up with some decent apps :)

DNS not working when trying to access Tunnel-connected nodes
Thanks for your reply. I see now that DNS is not the problem. I have the wifi adapter disabled, and am plugged into one of my mesh boxes by ethernet. When I do manual lookups of names on the remote mesh nodes, I do get accurate IP results. But something is blocking the connections. I don't know if it's something about the tunnel software or not, but at least ports 80 and 8080 are blocked. I think I'll plug a node into a linux box and do an nmap scan on a couple. That will give me something to go on :)

Steve

Steve,
I understand that you see all of the remote tunnel nodes on the mesh status page, but when you click on the links, your PC won't resolve their addresses. The most likely reason this happens is that your computer has more than one network interface (i.e., ethernet and wi-fi). When this happens, your PC will use the wrong interface to try to connect to the remote nodes. Try disconnecting/disabling all except the network interface that you use to connect to your node (probably the ethernet interface)

Hello all, Got my linksys node up and running and installed. Set up the antenna for horizontal polarization, don't know if it should be vertical or not. Anyway, I'm located at 20th st and greenway and the nearest node with line of sight is K7VZ. I pointed the antenna at him and not showing anything. I might go back up there and turn the antenna to vertical. K7VZ let me know if your listening. Thanks 73s Brandon KI7OTB

DNS not working when trying to access Tunnel-connected nodes
I have a tunnel connection with someone, who in turn has tunnels with many other nodes. I see all of these in the mesh status page, but neither his or any of his neighbors will resolve DNS, so I can't connect. In a tunnel situation, how is my mesh supposed to resolve the IPs? I know there must be an easy answer, but for some reason I can't connect to any nodes I see remotely because of this. 73, Steve W7RD |

EOL
Just got my WRT54GL up and running yesterday. Kind of unhappy seeing this. Have ordered coax and antennas. Saw the note about problems with Ubiquity devices and did not consider them. Read hardware compatability which shows Wrt is supported. Kind of a waste of time and money. |

Sorry, total newbie here. I heard on another forum that the Linksys WRT54G is obsolete for Ham Mesh. Is this true? Here is a quote " the development forked and this end (using the linksys routers) pretty much got left behind".
Again sorry for the newbie post Steve |
